A member of the congregation of St Andrew’s Church, Fulham Fields, went to work in Afghanistan for a year to help train lawyers. As this was a very dangerous place to go the congregation gave the person a holding cross to take with her to use when she prayed. The church also placed a second holding cross in a box which was passed around the congregation during the year. Each person had the box for a week and committed to pray for the person during that week, using the cross. At the end of the week the cross in the box was passed on to another member of the congregation. It was a lovely way to keep the person in Afghanistan in everyone’s thoughts and prayers during that year. See Gallery photos.
